Chocolate Cookies
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup melted butter
5 squares melted chocolate
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla.
Blend in the melted chocolate and butter.
Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.
Add to chocolate mixture and stir until all ingredients are
thoroughly mixed.
Add walnuts, if preferred.
Chill the mixture several hours or overnight.
Shape into balls approximately 1-1/2 inches in diameter and
roll in confectioners' sugar.
Place on cookie sheet at least 2 inches apart.
Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until done.
For a soft cookie center, remove from oven while cookies are
still soft in the center.
