Shirred Eggs With Ham And Gruyere.
Ingredients:
Eggs-2. Ham-3 tablespoons, finely diced.
Gruyere Cheese-2 tablespoons grated.
Heavy Cream-1 tablespoon.
Butter-1 1/2 teaspoons.
Salt and Freshly Cracked Black Pepper-to taste.
Instructions.
Preheat the oven at 400F degrees. Place the butter into a
ramekin or custard cup. Place in the hot oven for 5 minutes
until melted. Remove from oven and using a pastry brush coat
the sides of the custard cup all over. Place the chopped ham
in the bottom of the hot cup. Crack 2 eggs in a separate bowl
leaving the yolk intact. Pour the eggs over the ham. Pour the
heavy cream over the eggs and then top with the shredded
Gruyere cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 7 minutes. Place
under a hot broiler for 2 minutes until cheese becomes golden.
Serve on a plate with a homemade English Muffing dripping with
sweet creamy butter
