Sumosan
26 Albemarle Street, W1
A new Japanese restaurant, Sumosan opened on 28 May. Sumosan
executive chef is Bubker Behlit, former executive chef at
the Sumosan restaurant at the Radisson-Slavjanskaya Hotel,
Moscow. Samusan London's owners are the Wolkow family, owns
three other successful Japanese restaurants in Moscow.
London's Sumosan will serve sushi and sashimi. Lunch costs
in the region of £30 and dinner £50. Occupying the lower
ground floor, is J Bar, serving cocktails, sushi and
Japanese tapas.

Fyne Fayre
Catherine Street, WC1
Loch Fyne Restaurants opened their first central London
restaurant on 27 May. The 120 seat Fyne Fayre is bright and
contemporary, furnished with Loch Fyne's signature wooden
style. Loch Fyne smoked oysters and salmon are on the menu
as well as other hot and cold dishes. Three courses cost an
average of £20, plus wine. There are also cheaper light
dishes available.

Chowki
Denman Street, W1
Chowki is the second London restaurant to be opened by
Kuldeep Singh, owner and executive chef of Shaftesbury
Avenue's Mela restaurant. Serving home-style Indian food,
the menu will change monthly to represent three different
regions in India.

Zuma
5 Raphael Street, SW7
Takemurasan, formerly of London restaurant, Nobu, is head
sushi chef at the newly opened Knightsbridge restaurant,
Zuma. Grilled fish, sushi and 30 different varieties of sake
are on the menu. The restaurant has seating for up to 150 as
well as a 26-seat private dining room.

Café Grand
Prix
50a Berkeley Street, W1
A new complex featuring the La Rascasse restaurant and two
bars serving food; the Pit Brasserie and Rosie's, has now
opened. Café Grand Prix is the sister café to the Grand Prix
Monaco, with racing the decorative theme in the London Café
Grand Prix. The head chef at La Rascasse is Richard Turner
whose signature style is clean, light and simple food
inspired by Mediterranean flavours.

Bug
The Crypt, St Matthew's Church, SW2
Bug, formerly Bah Humbug restaurant and Bug Bar at The
Crypt, Brixton, will open in early June following
refurbishment. Its Modern International menu, created by new
head chef, Chris Manning, includes the addition of a number
of meat dishes, the vegetarian selection will remain.
